About David

I am continually inspired, through the gift of music and Yoga, to guide others towards their own inner light, empowerment and peace. I've been performing and creating music for over 17 years and teaching Yoga for eight years.  In that time, I've lead four retreats to Costa Rica and have fallen in love with the region's magnificent Nature, energy and people.

My journey of Yoga began when I was a BFA Acting student at UC Santa Barbara. At the time, I was quite inflexible, with relatively poor posture and minimal core strength. One of my acting teachers incorporated Yoga in our voice-training class and I quickly experienced the strengthening, opening and empowering effects it had on me. After graduating from college, I continued to study and practice Yoga with many teachers, while completing a 750-hour massage therapy program. In 2009, I enrolled in a 200-hour Yoga teacher training at Yogaview in Chicago. I then went on to become a certified personal trainer through N.A.S.M - one of the most rigorous and respected certification programs in the country. I spent several years helping clients improve their health and well-being as a Yoga teacher, massage therapist and personal trainer in Chicago. This lead me to organize and lead my first Yoga retreat to Costa Rica in 2010. I moved back to California in 2012, where I continued to teach Yoga as I progressed in my music. Here in Santa Barbara, I've had the honor of teaching at Yoga Soup, Montecito Yoga Center, Divinitree and Santa Barbara Yoga Center to thousands of amazing students and Yoga aspirants. For me, Yoga and Music are divine gifts of the same tree - both leading us to our inner truth, power and experience of the Self.
